* More than 290 Bobcats have been ear tagged
* Other animals you can find are: rattlesnakes, squirrels, herons, butterflies, and lizards and deer

* There are plants foreign to Santa Monica overtaking native plans
* Some plants you can find are; Sand Verbeno, red maids, Fairy Lanterns, Brickelbush, California Morning Glory, Winecup Clarkla and many others

* Santa Monica has many trails with diverse terrains, you can from ridge tops to canyon floors
* Rides can be challenging and exhausting
* There are many rewarding ocean views on the trails

*Fires put mountains in danger, fire prevention is a year round activity for Santa Monica Mountains
*Mountain Recreation and Conservation Authority also known as MRCA works with the fire department to keep our mountains safe
*MRCA manages more than 60, 00o acres that belong to Santa Monica Mountains
